  • 1 immersion blender
  • 1 Fine mesh Sieve

Ingredients
  

  • 7 ounces Shelled Chestnuts
  • 1½ cups Sugar white
  • 2 cups Water
  • ½ tsp Almond Extract
  • ½ tsp Vanilla Extract

Instructions
 

  • Pour water and sugar into a medium saucepan and cook at a low boil until sugar is dissolved.
  • Add chestnuts and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Add almond extract.
  • Using an immersion blender, blend the chestnuts until no large chunks of chestnut remain.

  • Pour the chestnut orgeat through a fine mesh sieve into storage container.
  • Add vanilla extract and swirl.
  • Store Chestnut orgeat syrup for 3 weeks in refrigerator.
