Roasted Chestnut Hot Chocolate Recipe
This homemade hot chocolate recipe for 2 is filled with swirls of chocolate laced creamy milk and a roasted chestnuts. Oven roasting and peeling chestnuts is easy, as long as you follow some simple steps.
- Soak the chestnuts before roasting them.
- Check for “dud chestnuts” these rattle when shaken, indicating a shriveled nut inside.
- Score the chestnut shells evenly and deeply.

HOT TIP!
If you don’t want to mash the chestnuts or maybe your serving hot chocolate for a crowd, substitute my chestnut orgeat syrup instead of whole chestnuts. The orgeat recipe makes a batch and can be added into the hot chocolate right before serving to achieve the same nutty taste and smooth creamy texture.
**Just Omit the sugar in the recipe below as it is already added to the Chestnut Orgeat!
