Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Stalk Lemongrass fresh
  • 8 Leaves Cilantro fresh

Instructions

  • Remove rough, dried outer leaves from lemongrass, revealing the fresh, moist, and fragrant inner stalk. Cut lemongrass stalk into 2 to 3 inch pieces.
  • Mix water and sugar in small saucepan over medium heat, bring to a slight simmer. Stir continuously until sugar is dissolved.
  • Add 3 to 4 pieces of the cut lemongrass to the still hot simple syrup and remove from heat. Allow to cool to room temp.
  • Once cool add the cilantro leaves to the simple syrup. Let the lemongrass and cilantro sit in the simple syrup to infuse the flavors.
  • Strain and pour into a decorative bottle or jam jar.
