Stewed Strawberries with Bay leaves for Yogurt Bowls

Frozen strawberries are perfect for this stewed fruit recipe flavored with bay leaves. Spoon over yogurt for a satisfying breakfast bowl to brighten the start of your morning.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 bay leaf fresh, not dried

Instructions
 

  • Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and simmer over low heat for 20 minutes.
  • No need to stir this recipe, the fruit will soften on it's own and keep it's structure.
  • Remove from heat once liquid has turned syrupy and thick and strawberries are soft.
  • Be sure to remove the bay leaf before serving, as the leaf itself is not edible.
  • Spoon (warm) over yogurt, cakes, or ice cream and serve.
