Stewed Bosc Pears with Cloves and Vanilla

This recipe has softly simmered and softened Bosc pears spiced with whole cloves, a bit of honey and finished with vanilla. This stewed fruit recipe is perfect spooned over yogurt or served as a sweet finish to a meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pear Bosc
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 5 pieces cloves spice whole
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • ¼ vanilla paste

Instructions
 

  • Cut the pear in half and scoop the seeds out.
  • In a meduim saucepan place the pears and fill the saucepan with water until the pears are covered.
  • Bring to a low boil of medium heat and cook for 10 minutes on stovetop.
  • Add cloves, and sugar and continue simmering for another 7-10 minutes.
  • Let liquid thicken and make sure pears are soft before adding honey and vanilla, stirring to incorporate.
  • Carefully remove pear halves and layer over bowl filled with yogurt, leave cloves in pan.
